Today I'm going to review this new foundation I got, it's called Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation. I believed it was just released this year. I got mine when my Walgreens was having BOGO. So, without further adieu, here's what I think about it.
Product name: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation
Price: $8-10 each depending on where you get it, I got 2 for $9.59 when they were BOGO at Walgreens.
Packaging: Love it! It's in a glass bottle and the color of the label is kinda beige, so I think it's classy looking. It also comes with a pump, and we all know how much we love pumps! It keeps everything so sanitary.
Texture: It's a relatively solid liquid foundation (does that make sense?). It's not as liquidly as, let's say, Revlon Colorstay. It's pretty thick, so I use a MAC 187 to apply this.
Pros:
--Very moisturizing
--Medium Coverage, could apply to get better coverage
--Matte Finish (initially)
--Great packaging
--The color match is amazing. I got Nude (Light 2-3?) and it was PERFECT!
--The price is great, especially when they are BOGO
Cons:
--Caused MASSIVE breakouts!! My poor skin was just recovering from my previous breakouts and you gave me NEW ones?!! WHYYYYY!!!!!!
--It lasted about 30 minutes on me WITH SETTING POWDER.
--It made me super duper oily, and I have DRY skin! WTF?
--It gets on EVERYTHING it touches. I don't mind it fading, everything fades eventually, but this is too much. It got on my BF's shirt after we hug, it got on my finger which transferred to my paper, it got on my clothes, EVERYTHING!! ARRRG!
Final Verdict: Oh, HELL NO!! Never again! I returned the ones I got and I rarely do that. The best thing I love about this is the packaging and how well it matched my skin. However, the 5-10 giant un-popable pimples I got from using this made me depressed. Now I have MORE scars to deal with, awesome! If you have normal-oily skin, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL! Stay as far from this as possible! You WILL become an oil slick. Try this at your own risk.
Some pics to see the coverage/finish.

Great review~ :] Sorry you got pimples from using this! :/
i've used this foundation for the past 2 weeks and i can't agree more!
tao, do you know which shade of the revlon colorstay foundations has a yellow undertone?
Aw sorry it made you break out! Coverage looks decent though!
Yay! Tao I'm so glad you got your grade changed! I was worrying about you a bit =P
wow, there's just so many different brands of foundation coming out, it gets to be so confusing, I'm sorry this causes pimples ...i'm sure it'll work for others, but for sensitive skin like yours...and mine, i guess we have to be careful :) thanks for this!
Read your last post - I'm relieved that you spoke to the professor and you got credited for your work. I'd be super pissed off too. Frankly, most TAs are miserable and simply power trip. I hope you get better TAs in future classes.
Aww butterfingers! I really like Maybelline [as far as eyeshadow goes].
At first I was like ooh yeah this is gonna be a good product since I read all the PROS. But once I got to the first CON about the MASSIVE BREAKOUTS I was like *gaaaaaaaaasps* *sad face* I'm gonna take your word for it & say no. Thanks for your review. You've helped so much (:

sigh it looks so nice but the cons of it def suck, thanks for the review :)
Awesome! Yes, you can. They come in 0/0 degree. Which is just normal non-prescription.
I saw this today at the store...was wondering about it...thanks for the review. The coverage looks amazing! That's just too bad it causes breakouts. My oily skin would not have liked this product! But the packaging sure makes you want to buy it! I know it stopped me in the aisle.
I'm glad you got your grade changed. See, being "immature" by bitching online did pay off! You got advice that helped change your grade!
hey..Tao !
I came across your blog and have enjoyed your posts alot.

thanks.
i hate it when a product causes breakouts!!! hugs!
i don't think we have this just yet. a liquid mousse so that's why it's "solid" as you put it.
but hell no, i will not try this!
thanks for a great review!
glad to hear your grade got changed! But sorry to hear this foundation broke you out.
LOVE your review girli!!!! wondering if I can mention you on my website regarding this? xx bubbi xx
i'm glad u got ur grade changed. thanks for the review. i was thinking about getting about this in the near future, but now im having second thoughts.
am using the dream mouse on the pot. the older version of that. Am using it for four years already i think. i like it cos it's easy to apply and does a moderate coverage. but i have oily skin so maybe ill just stick to mouse, but am thinking of switching to mac. they say mac is really good.
care for any advise? what's your fave foundation?
amazing review &
random comment: on youtube your skkin looks amaziing!
Thanks so much for the review. I just found your blog doing a search on this makeup. I was so anxious to try it, but my skin breaks out so easily that I'll be passing this up. I'm sorry you had to suffer through a breakout. It's so disappointing to get all excited over a product and then find out it's not so great after all.
My skin isn't dry nor oily and i get pimples/breakouts once in a blue moon, so I think I will test it anyways (:
But thanks for the review.
Just found you on line - glad to have a source for all things makeup ... I just bought this makeup today .. tried it and I have to say - I have no pores! I am not kidding - applied very little - no red marks showing - even a scar from my accident is gone - I love it!! I have combo to slightly dry skin - so I'm hoping I don't break out!
haha!
'OH HELLL NO'
amazing review, i was actually laughing:L
i was going to buy this.. maybe not.
:D
umm, you put it on ur face not ur hands..
stupid bitch.
hi, ihave been using this product for about a month now and ive come to the conclusion that you probably just have bad skin... because i havent broken out once! the coverage is great! and it lasts all day with bare minerals tinted mineral veil. so this review is a little off if you ask me.. you should just buy makeup thats not cheap...
have to agree with the last comment.....i have been using this and it is amazing on me. love the texture and how matte it makes my skin. i have combination skin and it stays on really well all day and doesn't make my t-zone oily at all. i think, as with any product, it really varies person to person.
Ok since the last few comments were kinda rude I have a suggestion. If you really want to try out this product buy it and rub on just a tiny bit on your chin instead of all over your face (since you chin is prone to being oily) leave it on for the day and see how that works out. If it becomes extremely oily or you get pimples later than this is NOT for you. If you see great results test it on 1/2 you forehead next and see how that goes. If its oily/pimply don't use it anymore, if looks great then enjoy your new makeup. See problem solved! No point in getting hostile people.
I own this foundation, and I love it- it doesn't give my normal skin breakouts, and it gives great coverage (I also use stick concealer and light loose powder). But I have to agree- it can make my skin look oily, and it doesn't last.
I've been using this makeup for about a month and 1/2 and I'm having serious breakouts! I have stopped using all my other regular products except for this makeup and have come to the conclusion that I think it's the makeup! ERRRRRRR!
Thanks so much for your review. I thought it was just me. I normally have oily skin so I thought this would be ok since it says oil free. But I have had the worst breakouts this past week using this product. Luckily I called rite-aid and they will refund my money!
Hi there everyone. I just thought i'd post my experience for something different to consider! :) I brought this product having looked at the reviews etc. and a little worried. But so far I have only good things to say about it. It went on lovely and made my face glow. It stayed on all day and looked great. I even had to scrub a little to get it all off properly-it was kinda waterproof. I found that it stayed to my face great and barely came off onto other things ( even come off less than my previous foundation ). I was so happy-makes you feel more free. My skin is normally kinda oily, but it was great, no oily at all. So far no breakouts! I think everyone needs to try it and see if it suits them. It suits me and i love it! Thanks.
Hey guys,i have been using this product 6 months now.one of the best foundation i came across! u probably having breakouts either bcoz ur skin is sensitive or u didnt use a good make-up remover. I'm using Dermalogica's Ultra calming cleanser 4 face & eyes, and it removes the residues effectively.Gives my face a luminous glow, pores diminishes. Almost magical!
